  1. I think "as fast as possible" is a reasonable answer.  

    You need to remember that sometimes, you might be in danger, and you might be able to limit the danger in 5 years, but no faster.

    There are also sometimes that you don't limit the danger at all.  Like yesterday, I got a jet plane and flew all day.  I could have stayed on the ground, but I didn't.

  3. The best defense is to STOP.  Give yourself a second to really assess your situation and figure out a way to safety.  If you just react, without knowing the full extent of what your reaction will do, you can make your situation worse.
