If there is global warming?? Then why did I buy a pool 3 weeks ago and my kids have only been able to swim 3 times. Our average temperature for this time of year in 80-84 and it hasn't been that warm in 2 weeks and only once will it be within average this week.

Global Warming doesn't neccesarily mean that the temperature will be hot this week, it is a long term thing that will accumulate slowly over time but is definitely happening.

Furthermore, Global warming is better called global climate change as it is just an overall change in the climate, which is NOT the same as the temperature. You have to consider average temperature change to see how the climate is changing and thus see the effects of global climate change.

We Skeptics of the Anthropengic (Man made) Global Warming (now Climate Change) theory have been researching reasons this cooling has happened this year. First off we had an El Nina year starting at the end of the 2007 Summer season, then we had a lessening of Sun Spot activity on the Sun. We also are seeing a major cool spot in the Ocean getting bigger, which is unrelated to the El Nina. All these factors have caused this year to be colder than average and could trigger a cooling trend of the entire globe.

One other thing the Jet Stream pattern we experienced this Winter, Spring and now a few times this Summer coming off the Arctic are also making it a colder than average year. If we continue to see this pattern and it continues to get stronger I suggest moving from the Northern States, because Winters will only get worse.

A one-year drop in temperatures is not enough to invalidate global warming. Measurements of temperature trends come from accumulated averages over the years; single-year peaks or valleys happen all the time.

If the average global temperature continues to stay cooler than usual for a few years, we might have to reevaluate our beliefs about global climate change. But one single year does not make much of a difference until we know if the trend will continue.

No reliable data can prove that global warming has happened.

The data from weather stations (mainly located at the cities) proved that urban warming has happened. The increase of temperature due to urban warming from 1900 to 2000 is only about 1 degree Centigrade.

You seem to be confusing climate and weather.

Climate is long-term.  I don't remember the source, but one definition I came across said at least 30 years must be taken into account when talking about climate.

Global warming IS an issue that some political nut jobs are using as propaganda to CONTROL THE PEOPLE.

global warming is only suppose to increase avg temperatures buy one or two degrees in the span of 5-10 years, so u won't notice in the day to day temperatures.  The threat is in the melting of ice caps because of those increases (the loss of ice is the loss of white that reflects heat from the sun so the process can increase faster and faster if unchecked).

Don't get too discouraged.

Even in a 'p!ss poor' year like this one, there are usually a few days in July and August that get some sunshine.

Although I have seen a few summers where that never happened.
