Do men of all ages prefer some chase when it comes to interactions with women/girls? As a woman, I do not really understand this concept of the chase and why it's important?

  1. To the male, primal as it seems, the quest can be more fun than the conquering. The quest keeps them on their toes, and performing at their personal best for an unlimited amount of time, b/c they are driven by desire. Once they conquer, desire is gone, b/c they have achieved and often forget what they wanted in the first place.

  2. I suppose it could come into delaying gratification.  Supposedly, on the psychological front, it is a sign of maturity and advanced evolution to be able to delay gratification.  However, I think it comes down to if you work hard for something, it always seems a bit sweeter.  Imagine the podunk who finds a manuscript and has it published and it becomes a best seller.  He is happy, yes.  Now imagine the writer who toils over his work for years.  He publishes it and it becomes a best seller.  He would be beyond words.

  3. Frankly, I don't see the point.  I guess you could make a biological argument for it, but why bother.  It just seems like work.  Maybe that's why I'm going to die alone.

  4. I don't enjoy the chase and think it's a bit insulting when a girl expects the guy to take all the initiative and jump through hoops for her.  If we like each other, why not meet halfway?  The chase is a waste of time.
