Could you accept so called god as your Savior? Or is it wiser to accept one true God as your Savior?

  1. "If there is only one true God, does it make other gods as so called gods?"

Yes except for the SO CALLED one true god!

  2. The better question is: if yours is the One True God, why is he jealous of all the other, so-called gods?  It's just psychotic to be jealous of imaginary entities...

  3. There is only one true God, all the rest are simply in the minds of men.  As some would say that Satan is the God of the system of things.  He is if it is man given him that title.  Otherwise, Satan, is the fallen angel and is one of God's creations and could be called a son of God but not a God.  Some make Jesus as a god as to have two gods in religion that claim they only have one god.  I, for one, believe in only ONE God.  His is a Trinity, the God head (Father) God the son (Jesus second in the trinity) and God the Holy Spirit (third in the trinity)

Jesus is my Savior and is not a god but rather he is God.

  4. for "water" we have diff names in various languages and dialects

likewise for God people have given diff names..but all the names and teachings lead to the same thing..the one and only true God who created the heaven and earth!

  5. There is only one God and we are all his children.  Different religions have different traditions in worship, may call God by different names, and may adhere to different scriptures but to our One God we all all one people who are each dearly loved by God.

  6. Almost every religion believes itself to be the only true religion with the only true god(s)...

  7. Yes, when there is only one true God, then the other gods are false gods.

Only God can be our Savior. Jesus is that one true God

  8. The most common metaphor for God(s/esses) is that he/she/it/they fill the role of a "heavenly parent", and with this apt metaphor in mind, consider the best way to teach a very *young* child very complex and deep ideas. You learn *their* vocabulary, and speak to the child in a way that fits into their limited perception of the world, and then *slowly* add a new idea or two. But always using the 'language' that they understand.

No more than I could carry on an intelligent conversation with a quantum physicist would I expect to be able to converse with "God" on *his/her* level. So he/she 'dumbs it down'. And for this reason, because each society thinks differently, the 'face' that "God" presents has to be different. In some societies, "God" presents his ideas like speaking to a toddler - "just follow my rules and you will be okay" (saved). In other societies, more personal responsibility is advocated, and "God" says, "these aren't rules, they are guidelines, and here's the natural consequences if you s***w up".

In som societies, racism is a norm. Not *my* norm, but there *are* societies like that, and they consider their racism to be 'normal' and 'natural'. If God walked in and just said "that's wrong", the people would reject everything he said. So he starts off by appearing to agree with this philosophy, and then incrementally builds respect for the oppressed race. So in the interim, a religion might seem to promote racism, while the more enlightened would say "God didn't really mean *that*". So really, the only problem with religion is that it tends to 'lock in' one set of rules/ideas, when our 'heavenly parent' (logically) would want us to learn and grow.

None of us can envision the "one true God". We can only see "God" in a way that can fit into the context of our society and personal development. And "God" is sufficiently capable (omnipotent, right? *smile*) that I believe he/she can be *different* for every single person on the planet, if necessary.

So, paradoxically, every claim that a specific religion's God is "the one true God" is in fact *corect*. If they conflict, that is *our* problem, and a big clue that what we are hearing is being personally "tailored" to each of us. It means that there is some aspect of the "real truth" that we inherently reject/deny. Once we resolve these conflicts and realize why there are these differences, and stop viewing other people's God(s) as somehow 'inferior' or 'false', we will gain a deeper understanding of what God may really be wanting us to know.

Truth is relative. God gets this. Maybe some day I will too.....

  9. It is wiser to accept the only one true and living God.  What profits a man to gain the whole world but lose his soul.  There is only one true and living God.  There are no other gods.  They are false.  Again there is only one true and living God.

  10. If there is, in fact, a Creator (God), then no-one will require salvation.  To create something and then require it to ask you for salvation defies reason.

  11. It's wiser to realise there is no god.

  12. Foolish you are, make no sense, your question does.

Believe in which god, if the true god you seek? Hrmmm?

  13. Very insightful!!!

I'll take the real deal, not an imitation!

No gods with a little "g" for me!

  14. You been hittin' the sauce already today ?
