  1. This is a question for your doctor.  There are multiple reasons that a person might have phlebitis.  One of the issues with phlebitis is the possibility for forming blood clots in the veins that are narrowed due to the inflammation.  Only your doctor can tell you whether you should remain active to help prevent clots, or whether you should be on bedrest while waiting for already-existing clots to resolve.

Like I said, there are lots of reasons people develop phlebitis.  There are different treatment options available once the doctor knows why your case developed.  Call him and ask if your activity needs to be restricted.  He's the expert.

  2. ABSOLUTELY NOT!!!!

One with phlebitis should be inactive, sit with leg elevated and iced and be taking anticoagulant.

Activity and improper treatment can result in death from a pulmonary embolus (clot goes to lung).
