If there was a "Black" girl trying out to play in Romeo and Juliet?

and she was beautiful and a good actress would they let her play as Juliet??

  1. hopefully the director of this play isnt into type casting, and wants Juliet to look like the original. if so, dont take it personally, alot of directors do that. For example, I once did the play for cinderella and this girl who looked just like her, but had no talent whatsoever was casted as the part. Its unfair, but just an unfortunate part of life. If u dont get the part cuz u dont look like Juliet, dont take it personally, and dont give up!


  2. Anything is possible these days, however some theaters are still strict on racial preference. However, a Mulatto Juliet would be a nice sight to see!

  3. I don't see why Juliet couldn't be black. In this day and age, non-professional (the groups that aren't on Broadway or West End, etc.) casts are generally cast colour-blind.
