  1. Gasoline works fine.

  2. grass would be great, it is everywhere, but then we wouldn't have any for our lawns. Not paper then we wouldn't have trees.

  3. It could run on broken up trash maybe

  4. I was reading an article -maybe on the BBC site -  that in some  U.K. communities they are collecting and recycling used cooking oil from restaurants and fast food outlets for processing into vehicle fuel.  Apparently conversion kits are available and the food industry is proving very co-operative due to the costs of disposing of large quantities of waste oil by other means. This does work and is economic but whether this is for gas or diesel powered vehicles [or both] I don't know.

  5. By far the best fuel for small scale things like cars and trucks is hydrocarbons. The storage of energy is better in the hydrocarbons than anything we now have. Maybe a good battery will come along but its likely to be any time soon.

  6. fusion

  7. If you really do the research you'll find that solar or wind generated electricity is by far the most feasible post-petroleum option.

Ethanol is unsustainable in the long run.

  8. ethanol or bio diesel

  9. >> Fuel for a car can be made from used cooking oil. Very cheap alternative & does not damage the engine.

I dont know all of the involved processes of it though. Googling it may help.

    Ciao!

    >> Maybe household rubbish could somehow be converted ~ would kill 2 birds with one stone.
