And no doubt a whole new game or series of games and sets of rules would be invented to utilize this ball in play.

Black white and yellow striped. And instead of 15 balls going in a triangle, the sixteen balls could go in a square, at the same angle as a nine ball rack currently does. You could call it 'crazy pool' and have a game where you get one point for potting the 8 ball and one point for potting the sixteen ball, first to 21 wins.
