  1. Because Greece didnt have an obsession in beating the United States.

  2. America's huge population helps them win most of their medals...

that's what's happening with China this time around.

It's easy to find a good athlete out of over 1 billion.

For the small countries with only 200,000 people it's hard to even make a team in any sport.

Based on per capita Australia does much better than the US, Russia and China combined.

  3. These girls definitely are under the age limit to compete.  The Chinese government has a rule that everyone has to be "essential" to the success of the country. Children are sent away to "sports factories" by their parents in order to learn diving, swimming, gymnastics, tennis and other sports. If not, they are sent to military schools to join the Red People's Army.

At the "sports factories", they live the sport they are "forced" to excel at and nothing else matters until they are released back to their parents, which is only when they "retire" from that sport to become a baby breeding machine after marriage.

Americans, on the other hand, have lives, can freely go to the mall or visit their friends, can say bad things about the government without fear of reprisals, do not get punished if they make mistakes while performing, don't eat dogs, can grow up doing whatever they want to do, visit the gym whenever they want, can leave the gym to go home to their parents, do not get kidnapped and brought to "reprogramming" centers, are more creative in gymnastics and don't need to cheat by having a communist country's government strong arm the judges by intentionally having them delay results while other athletes are awaiting their start time and falsifying birth documents

  4. Why, of course there is favoritism to the host nation, but do you seriously think that Australia or Greece can beat America? Americans have good team in almost every single events, their numbers are well over a few times of Greece. Only Russia or China have a better chance to beat America if they are host nations(though Russia seems to be pretty laid back this year so far), and for judges, they are selected by IOC, not host nation.

  5. How about the Canadian Olympics were we didn't get a single gold medal.  Only host country in the history of the games to achieve that.

We got, like, 11 medals overall.

Well below the likes of the USSR, East Germany, the US, Hungary, Japan, Cuba, Romania, Finland, Switzerland, Korea, Jamaica and Mexico.  And about three dozen other countries.

    You know.

    I'm just saying.

Although I did think the men's springboard judging seemed a bit fudgy tonight.  Not saying that the Chinese didn't deserve the gold - they were the best.  But some of their marks were a bit high in comparison to the rest of the field.  A near perfect dive from the Russians would feth a point/point and a half difference, but the Chinese were fetching 10s.  I think the judging was a little easier on them tonight.  Although I disagree with the comments on the judging on the women's platform diving, the gynmastics and boxing.

And my Despatie didn't medal - tough break I guess.

  6. Im not sure

  7. Seriously some people make Americans look bad even though I am American my parents are Asian and French so...........

Doesn't Matter I will Root For America but stop Complaining you guys are some sore losers

I hope it comes to Chicago.
