If there was no possible way you could breastfeed? What would you do?

would you let someone else nurse your baby?

would you buy milk from a milk bank?

Would you let an animal nurse your baby? Seriously this was once done and may still be done in some parts of the world. I think mainly by goats.

Or would you opt for formula?

This question is for the people who say breast is best formula is horrible...

I dont think formula is horrible but i do think breast is good, so is formula. your baby needs food, and if you cant breastfeed then just go to formula, its ok, they would not make formula if it was bad for babies!!!

i have however heard from my doctor that goat milk is really good for babies but hard to find and expensive. u could also buy milk if you can afford it. it all depends on what you want, not what we want you to do.  as long as baby is full he will be happy :0)

If there was no possible way i could breast feed my own baby, i would opt for formula for sure, all the other options i personally would not consider. Especially an animal nursing a baby, eww.

formula.  There is nothing wrong with formula!  I have raised three children and they did fine.  Some children do have a problem and you have to change...but those children's digestive systems are not completely mature yet...so they will put them on another formula.

Breast milk is better for them.....but formula is good too.

I would ideally, have a close relative nurse my child.  Barring that being an option I would by milk from a milk bank and supplement with formula since it would be restrictively expensive.  But, no, I would not with a goat, not on a boat...

oh, no.

my neice wouldn't beast feed and they had to put her on a bottle. what you do is they have women that actually beast pump the milk for other women whocan't breas feed. so, google it.

and I know it seems kinda gross but it would save your childd.

or you could check with your doctor and ask him if formula is in the question or not.

I would have pumped like crazy and put it in a bottle.  

If that didn't work I would have gone to formula . . . I don't think it would be possible this day in age to have a lactating relative/friend on hand for the frequent nursings that are required of a breastfed child, nor would I trust the milk of a stranger . . . but that's just me.

I am a Mother of 3 and Not a Big Breasted Person and I felt that my body did not have enough milk to feed  my Children so I bottle fed and used formula.I would never let another women Best feed any of my children.Yes Breast milk is best if you have it,But they make baby formula for a reason.

I will not breast feed my babies (watch the thumbs down go like crazy) i just find it will be odd and uncomfortable so I will either go with formula or use a pump.

I would try to get milk from a bank for at least the first 6 months. If that wasn't possible, I would choose formula. I don't have a problem with the idea of another person who I know and trust nursing my baby on occasion if needed, but I cannot imagine having to rely on someone else to do it full-time. It just wouldn't be practical.

And animals? No.

I would and Did formula feed there nothing wrong with formula feeding i know children that were breast feed and have asthma allergies ear infections and thank God my formula fed babies are as healthy as can be I believe women who yell at women for formula feeding need to mind there own matters cause it a choice for mother to make

FORMULA IS c**p.  I WON'T TELL YOU HOW TO GET SOMETHING CLOSE TO MOTHER'S MILK IN YOUR CHILD BUT IF U LISTEN TO THESE WOMEN SAYing FORMULA IS OK (convenient for lazy mothers) THEN JUST SMELL YOUR CHILD'S TOXIC DEFECATION AFTER SHE/HE IS ON FORMULA FOR A DAY.  Please, check into a milk bank.  God bless.

If someone was willing to nurse my baby I would definitely choose this option. But if no one was available I would buy from a milk bank. NO nasty fake milk that doesn't even have a name of a type of food would ever enter my baby's stomach. ^.^

since wet nurses have been around forever then i would probably consider it, however i would have to make sure she wasn't doing anything harmful to herself that would transfer to the baby and failing that i would choose a milk bank should one be available to me and as a last resort i would choose formula.

I would prefer that my child had real milk, but that is why formula was invented.

Flutterflie, I actually admire that you are not afraid to state that you are choosing not to breastfeed.  I'm tired of women telling me their lame excuses for not breastfeeding--I've never once asked.  It's refreshing to hear someone say that she's choosing to formula feed because she just wants to.

I breastfed all 4 of my children but not everyone can do that for one reason or another. There is nothing wrong with feeding formula to a baby. They did a lot of research and made sure it was healthy. My daughter just had a baby and is feeding her baby formula. I think she is an awesome new mom.

I don't think that formula is horrible but I would rather get my milk from a milk bank if possible.  If I was in situation that i couldn't breastfeed or pump.

I would let someone else nurse my baby, buy milk from a milk bank... The last thing, I mean the LAST would be formula...
