When getting the Gardasil vaccine, would you have your daughter get it?

Would you lower her chance of getting HPV, in turn, lower her chance of getting ovarian cancer?

why/why not?

  1. no, no and no.

Its just hasnt been out there enough to know for sure what it does or doesnt do.

  2. If there were no risks, only benefits? Why wouldn't you have your daughter get the vaccine?

The problem is, we don't really know what the long-term effects are, if there are any...

  3. If NO risks were proven I would give my daughter the choice.  HOWEVER, this has proven to be a risky vaccine from which many young girls have become severly sick or even died.  At this point I would not opt to have my daughter recieve this vaccine.

  4. I don't know the risk but I would say yes.  She is only 3 now and by the time she is old enough to get it more will be known about it and the risk involved.

  5. of course. the fda wouldn't be allowed to be used if it could make someone really sick. i plan on getting it soon myself. even though i don't have a daughter i would definitely. have her get the shot. mostly because i would want her to have children if one day if she wants to. it would a good thing that would help in the long run.

  6. Even with the risks there are now, i would have her get the HPV shot.  Heck, I wish I could get it, but i'm older then the recommended age.

  7. Yes, I would.  I wouldn't tell her what type of vaccine she was getting, just like most people don't explain other vaccines.  I don't want her to get cervical cancer or HPV/genital warts/etc.
