OMITTING HEAT!! The most common thing people say is you would melt. I just mean gravity. Would you get caught in the middle?

  1. actually we would begin to execute SHM i.e simple harmonic motion i.e we would begin to occilated between surface at one end and centre and the other end this is because the gravity decreases till it becomes zero at centre and again the next end would pull us with its gravity ...

the amplitude of this SHM would be equal to radius of the earth ..........

  2. stop at the middle....

  3. No heat, not air, no resistance except gravity, yes, you would pop out the other end, stopping just at the surface, and then reverse the process, bobbing back and forth, never stopping.

  4. Not immediately. However, if you were to jump in, you would just miss the opening at the end, then fall back and fall short even more, and so on, until you get stuck at the centre.

  5. basically i believe that if this hole would pass through the core without deleting it at all you would "fall" in the "gap" with tremendous speed until you reach the center then..  the grate force of gravity would separate your body into pieces and pull them near the core of the earth... NICE QUESTION!!! KEEP PHILOSOPHIZING AND WONDERING FTW!!!!!! (sorry about my english i may have some stupid mistakes) ;)

  6. Yes you would fall all the way through right to the other side, considering that your body mass and wind resistance and gravity remained constant. You would arrive right at the enterance on the other side and gravity would pull you back to the other side until eventually you would yoyo all the way back and forth and get stuck in the middle.

    =)

  7. Assuming there's no air in the hole, and we ignore the rotation of the earth....

If you jump up three feet above sea level, and fell into the hole, then you would come out the other end three feet above sea level.

If you didn't somehow manage to grab on to something, you would fall back in again. You would oscillate forever, falling down and coming back up.

If there is air in the hole, then you'll slow down every time you fall back through it because of air resistance, and you would eventually settle in the middle.

If you don't ignore the rotation of the earth (and the hole isn't directly through the axis of rotation), then you'll hit one of the walls in the hole, which will slow you down. Again, you'd eventually settle in the middle.

  8. if it was like a tunnel and u couldnt die in the magma then ya u could and according to modern physics, because of gravity no matter how long the hole through the earth is it would take exactly 42 minutes if u dont believe me look it up

  9. it will be ages before i come out of the other hole.

  10. That question doesn't really make sense, for several reasons:

You can not omit heat, the center of the earth's core is almost as hot as the sun made up of magma and some other materials so there is no way to omit a geoligical fact because then you are just going into hypotethical  theories which can be debatable and somewhat silly.
