Take into account all pilots have equal skill and no lucky shots are considered. What are the advantages and disadvantages of each aircraft. Here is the link...

  1. Different roles ya see. Fighter, F-16, Bomber, maybe A-10.

  2. The A-10 would by the only one that could possibly survive a four-way mid-air collision.  The P-51 would be obliterated and the F-16 destroyed.  The F-4 would crash but would most likely still be in one piece.  The A-10 can survive with significant airframe damage (including loss of a tail fin or a portion of a wing) and remain flying.

  3. For air-to-air fight, F-16 would be an easy win over others because of modern radar, missiles, radar warning, maneuverability.  #2 would be F-4, with older radar, missiles, speed, same gun as F-16 but would never get a chance to use it on 16.  A-10 & P-51 are tough to pick, prob A-10 due to 30mm gun & 1100 bullets, no radar, good maneuverability, great survivability.  P-51 has great maneuverability but 50 cal guns, lower speed & climb capability.

Air to ground, very dependent on weapons & targets.  F-16 carries more weapon types and greater accuracy than any of others.  Against tanks, A-10 superior, but must be guarded in air.  F-4 was a good all around in its day, as was P-51, but these were replaced for a reason, else we'd still be flying them....

  4. What a nice picture, thanks. My bet would be on the A-10.

  5. The A-10 and  P-51 Mustang are out.

The p-51 for obvious resons, and the Warhog becasue its more of a gound support, tank buster, very slow and not agile.

The fight would be between the f-16 and the f-4. I dont know enough about them too tell you the advantages of each. I can tell you that both are no longer used in the Unidted states military and the f-16 is only produced for export. The F-16 was faster and could withstand more g's then anything at that time including the F-4

  6. F-16, hands down. The P-51 and F-4 are  antiques, the Mustang being used in WWII and the Phantom in Viet Nam. The A-10 is too slow.

  7. The F-16 could detect and shoot down all the rest from 30+ miles away and never be seen or heard.

These airplanes (all are great don't get me wrong) are not even close to comparable when it comes to dogfighting.

If you meant cannons only no missles then the F-16 still out performs all of these.

  8. F-16 would be number 1. Only the A-10 can turn with the 16 due to it's ability to turn hard at low airspeed's in turn makes a tighter turn. I flew a guy just the other day that flew the 4 and the 16 and he told me that the F-4 could only pull 6-7 G's. If you did that starting at 500 knots and did 2 high g turns at the end you would only be doing 200 knots. Then he said you would have to go hard negative g to "unload it" which means to relieve the load on the wing and allow the A-C to accelerate. Then he said that the 16 you could pull 9 all day long, as a matter of fact you could start a turn at 200 knots and pull 9 and accelerate to 500 knots...WOW...Then I think number 3 would be the F-4 even though I am fan of it. Oh the poor great mustang at #4, it will always be one of the greats.

  9. F-16

    A-10

    F-4

    P-51

And I am very partial to F-4's.   Loved working on those

  10. Give me a Wart-Hog any day. It can kill you in so many different ways it's not even a contest.

  11. F-4 Phantom, and an F-16 Fighting Falcon

  12. I think if missiles were out of the equation, and you could get a close-in gunfight, the A-10 just might have a fighting chance against the F-16. I say that because the A-10 has excellent maneuverability, and could survive some damage from the F-16's 20mm cannon. And the GAU/8 would shred the F-16 if the A-10 got a shot off.
