I am not quite sure what you mean.  Are you trying to get Uruguayan pesos BEFORE you go to Uruguay?  DON"T!.  Just wait til you get there..you will get a better exchange rate at a bank or ATM there.  Mexican pesos have a totally different value and cannot be used in Uruguay.

As for the chances of bringing Uruguayan currency and exchanging it, they are pretty slim. Not all banks and exchange bureaus deal with all kinds of currency.
