  1. I wasn't born in the 60's but just by hearing stories i'd have to say Johnny Unitas.

The 70's is an easy one it has to be Terry Bradshaw. For goodness sakes he won 4 Super Bowls.

The 80's excluding Marino and Montana would most definitely leave John Elway

  2. Difficult question!

I have yet to see any compelling data on pre-1980s quarterbacks, i.e. direct comparison to a modern fantasy scoring system.

I'm taking a stab loosely based on QB-rating, TD/INT rating, yards, and rushing.

1960s - Johnny Unitas (1957-72); he peaks in the 1960s.  Daryle Lamonica (1963-1974) also gets strong consideration.

1970s -  Fran Tarkenton, Ken Stabler, Roger Staubach.  I gave the edge to the two scrambling quarterbacks.  From a fantasy context, Roger gives you fewer negatives for turnovers. He has a higher career QB-Rating than John Elway.

Bradshaw had a ton of INTs, and was NOT a fantasy force.  He lived off of the defense and running game.  Super Bowls rings matter not in fantasy.

1980s - Dan Fouts; a mad bomber for the Chargers.  Played for teams with little or no defenses, and was an offensive stat machine.  I gave Elway consideration, as he was drafted in 1983, but his finest statistical seasons were in the 1990s.

    Cool question.
