If they made it mandatory evacuation do we get F.I.M.A Help ? ?

They made us "mandatoraly" evacuate. Cost me a bunch of money I didn't have to pack us all up and drive 400 Miles North for four days. FEMA helped us out in Katrina, Local media hasn't even brought up the question so here I am.

  1. Was it "their" fault a hurricane occurred?  They told you to evacuate for your own safety and so you wouldn't need rescuing, thus endangering others.  Unless you suffer property damage, don't expect help from FEMA.


  2. Well, it's FEMA, not FIMA, and no you don't get help.

    Me, personally, I think that maybe if we didn't have mandatory evacuations, Darwin's Law would take care of a whole bunch of problems.

If your parish or area was declared a disaster area and you incurred costs or damages that are related to the disaster and not covered by any other coverage or insurance you may have, you might be eligible for assistance.
