  1. You need to find a better hobby.

  2. Well. In Texas they raised it from 55 to 65, somewheres 70 and others 80.

I think and have noticed... it really won't. Distance traveled is what impacts gas usage the most... IMO.

  3. Please excuse my sarcasm. What planet are you from? The speed limit was changed to 70 about 25 years ago. Actually though, depending on what kind of vehicle you drive, slower speeds save on fuel. City driving is what consumes more fuel because of the continuous stopping and starting.

  4. No, it was proven in the late 70s that faster speed on the free-ways leads to higher gas usage, and leads to higher emissions.

  5. According to research, 55 mph is the optimal speed for fuel economy on an uncongested freeway.  If you drive faster, your fuel economy will go down.

  6. It is proven that the faster you drive the more gas you consume.

  7. Our roads are 70mph in the UK and i drink fuel in every car.My car atm runs best at around 68 but each car is different.

    So depends on car really.

  8. sure it will.you will spend less time on the road therefore your car will run less saving gas...NOT!!!

  9. No it wouldn't.  (According to the History Channel haha) 55mph is the optimal speed for efficient gas consumption.  For every 5mph you go over 55mph, you lose around 2% efficiency.
