does that mean they think you are well enough to go home?

Why do I still feel afraid? It was so scary going in for emergency surgery yesterday and hearing the words septic......

they wouldn't release me if they didn't think I was ok to go right?

I had an emergency D&E.

  1. if you were not okay then they would not have released you. you will be fine and need time to heal.

  2. Yes. Hospitals do not release unless they think you are well enough to go home. That opens them up for all sorts of law suits. Of course, they also give you detailed instructions on what to do and when to call.

It's normal to be afraid. I was in the hospital last week being monitored for pre-term contractions and I was nervous when I got let go but I have gotten better with the treatment they gave me.

  3. Trust your Doctor!  They absolutly would not release if you were not ok.

I would schedual a follow up with your doctor over the next few days to be re evaluated and to be absolutly certain.  I am sure though, if you were still at risk or danger, they would have kept you longer for evaluation.

    So sorry and good luck!
