If this generaton steals the environment from the next so that they do not have it, what is our future?

The world will turn into a wasteland like Mad Max:  Beyond Thunderdome.

However, stronger humans will adapt and survive.  At the expense of the weaker ones.

The Earth will heal itself over time.  Probably after all of humanity has first perished.  

At this time, the condition of the environment will not mean much, because there will be no humans left to perceive it.
