do you all agree that the cup guys should stay out of the Nationwide races?

It just doesn't seem fair to me.

  1. i think if they are not full time they should be a limit

  2. HECK YES! That's like LeBron James and the Cavaliers taking on an NCAA team. The reason for the Nationwide Series is for the Nationwide drivers to get to Cup. They can't do that if all these guys with triple their experience keep winning! The top 4 in the standings are all Cup drivers! How are Leffler, McClure, Keselowski and Bliss going to win with Kyle Busch and Denny Hamlin out there?

Whenever a Nationwide Regular tries to pass a Cup driver I cheer for the Nationwide Regular even if the Nationwide Regular is someone I hate and the Cup Driver is someone I like.

Get the Cup drivers OUT of the Nationwide Series!

  3. without the cup drivers it would become like arca or asa

  4. It's kinda like a double edged sword. It's not right for the Nationwide regulars that these cup guys are taking points from them, purse money from them, and when there is knock out qualifying, they are taking a spot, and experience from them. But on the flip side, if the cup guys don't race, you may not have a series now. I don't think that too many people want to go watch Steven Wallace, David Stremme and Mike Bliss race door to door. It doesn't sound as exciting, I really think Joey Logano is going to help the series, but if he excels like he should, he won't be there long. Alot of people would rather pay for a Nationwide ticket which is less than a Cup ticket and get to see most of the drivers that are in the Cup race. I think maybe once they go to a COT, especially if it's Pony cars like they're speculating, that will help the series. It will give it it's own identity.

  5. I agree especially if they are gonna whine and cry about the rookie drivers and isn't that what the Nationwide is for to get them ready for the cup races?

  6. What is not fair? They all have the same equipment. This is NOT like a minor league, especially since there is not any correlation with the cars.

  7. I agree with you!! I consider that like the minor league race. Let the not sooo famous drivers get the feel & stretch  their legs kind thing.

    ***edit****

It is called a example!!!!!  Duhhhhhhhh & YES it is like the minor leagues! How is it not???

  8. If the cup guys stayed out of the Nationwide series there wouldnt be enough drivers to fill the 43 cars plus sponsors would drop like flies. Limit their races they can run but not ban them.

  9. i think the nationwide series needs some cup drivers more than the cup drivers need the nationwide series, especially since the cars are "less alike" than they were before the COT.  just like the truck series, more people are more likely to tune in to watch big names race.  if fans want to see nothing but development drivers, there's always the nascar camping world series or the arca/remax series.  big drivers bring in not only big bucks and big crowds, but they give the younger drivers a chance to learn what it will be like in the sprint series, warts and all.

yeah, maybe the nationwide regulars rarely get a win, but they are competing more amongst themselves - to get noticed and to get a cup ride - than they are competing to win a championship. look at david gilliland.  bad example i know, but still - he managed to win a nationwide race when most of the cup guys were elsewhere, and that was enough to get him a cup ride.  what he's done with it since then has been up to him and his team, but that exposure - not a busch/nationwide championship - got him to the cup series.  i probably wouldn't watch as faithfully if there were no cup guys there.

and how would guys like keselowski ever get a chance to learn and gain experience from guys like hamlin on how "they roll" up in the sprint cup series?   ;-)

bottom line, fans don't pay good money to see bryan clauson, kelly bires, and morgan shephard race - they pay to see them race against guys like carl edwards, kyle busch, tony stewart, and others...

    my $0.02.

  10. Personaly, i think that cup drivers should stay up because the nationwide series is supposed to be like class B drivers. and the cup is like class A drivers. And if the A drivers come in the B class then nobody can notice the talent of the best class B drivers, therefor less drivers get a chance in the cup series.

  11. I thought you were going to ask "Who is your favorite driver?" I think the cup guys should race in the Nationwide series. But they should be less of a presence.

  12. This was asked recently. Someone wrote(and i agree)that having cup drivers in the race gives them a challange. If the can't keep up with the big boys how do they expect to move up to the cup?

  13. Its a FREE Country they can do what they want GO JOEY !!!

  14. Its a good call but think about the fans who cant afford the Sprint cup tickets?  Or tours on the Sprint cup day.  I got a tour of the nationwide series garage last year and I have to say without the cup guys in the garage, it would not have been nearly as cool.  Plus it gives the guys with let experience to learn something from the cup guys as well, on and off the track.  I like the cup guys doing it, but they shouldn't be able to run for the championship in terms of points in the nationwide series.

  15. I do, even moreso now because of Denny Hamlin's stupid little "Nationwide guy with no cup experience speech", Why are you there in the first place then, Denny?

  16. YES! It's taking away other drivers chances at winning. Like Brad Kesolouski said "I'm out here once a week trying to prove myself and Denny's already up there."

    Or something like that. ;-)
