I live in orpington and have just got a job in kingscross. As I have to travel from zones 6 to 1 using a train, a tube and sometimes bus would it be cheaper for me to get a weekly or monthly travel card or would an oyster card be cheaper. I may be able to cut out the bus if this would make a difference. Also would it make a difference if i had to get 2 trains or tubes rather than one. Never had to commute in to london before so i'm a bit confused.

  1. Hi,

To be honest i think your best bet is to get a weekly or monthly travelcard.

Oyster is good if you do the odd journey or if you take let's say just 1 bus. Basically with Oyster you pay per journey (i think). As far as i know also, Oyster doe not work on trains.

If you are to go on bus, train, tube and have to change frequently etc, your travelcard gives you unlimited travel. So go for the travelcard!
