I know in horseracing if it happens, they count for both second and third. In the olympics, do they get both medals?

  1. The above answer is correct

  2. In the case of a tie for either silver or gold, Both Athletes are given the higher medal and the next medal is skipped over. For Example:

If two swimmers tied for Gold, they both received the gold medal and the person who came in next received the bronze medal. In the case of two people tying for third then two bronze medals are given out along with the gold and silver.

  3. if 2 runners tie in a dead heat for silver they only get the silver,so 4 people will get medals, the gold,2 silvers and a bronze

the people who tie dont get silver and bronze

  4. To answer what I think is your real question.  The U.S. doesn't get bronze for coming fourth in the women's 100m sprint
