Well, in kick boxing like in boxing is not the hands the one taking the worst part, is the brain the one taking the worst part; every punch in the head can damage your brain creating scar tissue and permament brain damage.

Your hand are protected by heavy gloves (people think gloves were made to protect the other guys head, but the true is gloves were made to protect the hands and wrists).

Now it all depends on what level of Kick boxing are you talking about; if you want to go pro then you are going to take a lot of punishment doing Full-Contact.
