Question

There are 3 convicts waiting to be beheaded.But the king decided to spare one of them but he said'' i give each of you a colour of hat if u can guess the colour of your hat, then you shall be spared.'' The convict is put in the direction as shown

King 1st convict 2nd convict 3 convict

There are 4 hats, 2 black and 2 white.The king threw one of the hat(You don't know the colour which he had threw) the 1st convict cannot see any of the other 2 hats the 2nd and 3rd convict is wearing.The 2nd convict can see the hat the 1st convict is wearing and the 3rd convict can see the hat of both the 2nd and 1st convict.

Rule 1 the convicts cannot turn around and talk to one another.

There are no mirror/reflections or etc. Question: Which convict will be spared and why?

Wouldn't the third convict be spared because he doesn't have to tun around, he can already see the other two so if one...wait...he still wouldn't know what colour the hat was that was thrown away...unless both convicts had a black/white hat so then his would have to be white...yeh...you know you catch my drift

If the 1st and the 2nd convict hats are the same color, then the 3rd one will know that his hat will be another color.  So, the king can only place their hats in alternately.  Because the 2nd convict knows the 1st convict hat, then he will be able to know what color is his hat.  After placing a black and a white hat on the 1st and the 2nd convict, there is still another black and white hats left.  Therefore, the 3rd convict would not know what the color of his hat.  

Well, the 2nd convict just have to say the opposite color of what the 1st convict is wearing.

It depends.

If the 1st and 2nd are wearing the same colour then the 3rd will know he's wearing the other colour.
