If u cant show up for court for a speeding ticket..?

because you live far away... can a friend show up for you and pay the ticket on my behalf?

  1. you should call the court that is handling the ticket, they sometimes take credit cards, but should definitely take a money order via mail, just be sure to send it with a receipt confirmation.


  2. Call the clerk of the court where you are due to attend. Each courthouse will have slightly different rules, and it would be unfortunate if you had a warrant issued for your arrest 'cos you relied on the wrong information.

  5. anyone can pay a ticket on your behalf.  you just have to have the citation number on the check or money order.  if you want to pay yourself, you can.  you can send the payment to the courthouse.  if you do that, i would suggest certified mail so that you can ensure they have received it.

    i paid a traffic ticket and bond amount by money order in the mail.  i was in MD, ticket was in NJ.

  6. NO! Only a lawyer! You had better show up or risk getting a warrant for your arrest.
