  1. what does the amount of light reflected from the moon have at ALL to do with hair growth for the next couple of weeks?

  2. No, if you think about this scientifically, what effect does the moon have that could possibly affect how fast your blood cells die (which is what hair is)? The answer is no effect.

  3. The answerer with the almanac is correct BUT you must cut it in the zodiac sign for that month when its in the head, not the feet.Yes it does work! I do it all the time. You will usually get two or three days when you can cut it to grow back fast.Your grandmother is right.

  4. You should be banned from the science section for this question.

  5. It is not a proven fact

  6. lol

  7. It's a wonderful old wives tale - but comepletely silly.

No - the phase of the moon does not affect your hair growth.

It also doesn't affect the s*x of a child conceived or when you will give birth. I have had two kids and have always been highly amused by people telling me that my body will wait for the full moon and then let the baby out.

I have actually studied the data - and it really isn't true!

  8. The old Farmer's Almanac used to be full of these old bits of wisdom.

But, the real teaching is as follows:

Cut your hair on a new (increasing) moon, it will grow back faster.

Cut your hair on the Full (or decreasing) moon and it will grow slower.

I don't know how it works. But, this old bit of wisdom actually seems to work...somehow.

For more of these old-timers' bits of wisdom. Find a local farmers' seed shop and grab a copy of the Ye Olde Farmers' Almanac... It's a "hoot"

EDIT:: WTF people. I'm just telling you where to read the information and what my experience has been. Get over yourselves with the TDs
