No retail chain ,or any pet store is going to pay a veterinarian to neuter an animal for sale in that store.They'd go out of business real quick.

why do you want to neuter a guinea pig,any way.They are not dogs and cats and do not take  anesthesia well.Neutering is a risk.there is no need for them to be neutered.

No way. They aren't going to spend hundreds neutering an animal and sell it at a tiny fraction of that. They buy them from a few bucks from their breeding mills.

No. 99.99% of the time, a pet from a pet store (a big chain, or just a local mom and pop store) will not be fixed. If the pet is available for adoption, rather than for purchase, the animal may sometimes be fixed, but they will most likely be advertised as such. Also, you cannot always trust when stores tell you the s*x of a small animal or reptile. It is very difficult to tell at the young ages that these stores get their animals as. So until you get your pet in to see a vet, don't just take their word for it about it being male or female, or spayed/neutered.

Guinea pigs and other petstore animals do not get fixed before sale. The price would be outrageous for it.

By the way, all animals in a petstore are from mills and bybs. Look for a rescue/animal shelter if you want a piggy.

No, they're not. Only time I've seen neutered animals, is at Petco, and that's just the ferrets & rabbits. (If you're curious, call your local PetSmart and ask!)
