It depends.  The bad credit info is going to stay on your report for 7 years.  The only good information is the past year of bill paying and the only bills that count are the ones that are being reported to the credit reporting agencies.  Since it costs money to report to a credit reporting agency, most utilities do not report positive information.  Neither do cell phone companies.

    As it's entirely possible that the bills you have been paying are not showing up on your credit report, it's possible that your credit score is not improving.  You should order your credit reports and see what's going on.  You are entitled by law to one free report each year from each of the big three credit reporting agencies - annualcreditreport.com.
