  1. You conveniently didn't add 5th place Australia.

We only have 21 million compared to Britain's 58 Million

    We win :-)

  2. Aside from the fact Australia has more bragging rights.....how on earth have GBR done so well these Olympics?!  Dont get me wrong, Im happy for them to be 4th, but is this because the government has FINALLY pumped some money into helping out their athletes?

  3. you all are wrong. Bahrain has it's first gold medal ever and with a population of just about 700k

  4. Aren't you clever to have thought of that. With a population of 1.3 billion, no wonder China can have the most gold medals and lead the Games right now.

  5. and australia with 35 medals and only 21 million people absolutely kicks your collective backsides.australia in 5th position and 35 medals sorta rains on your parade don't it.so unless britain wins 105 medals then don't get excited your not in the same league.also australia is'nt going as well compared to past olympics so i guess you can say we are having a bad olympics.oh well theres a next time...you know how to flatter us so in reponse yes you brits are really starting to shine and come 2012 you will obviously go even better.feels good don't it.welcome to the club.

  6. Well, statistically Australia at 4 beats us, but they've been brilliant as sport for ages so Team GB's results are flippin' brilliant!  It's weird though, we're so used to being gallant losers that I'm having trouble adjusting!

On a practical note a lot of it is down to vastly increased Sports Funding that has enabled athletes to train and reach their full potential.  Let's just hope the people building the infrastructure for London 2012 do as good a job.

  7. No actually. Australia with 21 million people and 35 medals.

  8. It is Australia.

  9. Who cares, nobody uses that because it's about as unfair at picking a winner as it gets.

But your free to judge or Talley it however you want, there's a reason nobody thinks like that though.
