When I got my fish, I was told that even if you use drinking water, you are still supposed to use the conditioner.  Also, depending on your fish, I was told that the drinking water was to be at room temperature, not directly from the fridge.  Hope this helps!

Bottled water is generally just someone elses tap water....

It may be better than yours, or it may not. It may be different pH and hardness. It may need treatment, or it may be fine.

No real way to know.

Best to just save your money, treat your tap water and use that.

you should put it in there, its relativly inexpensive and makes cleaning your tank a lot quicker. Who really wants to let the water sit out and wait a few days to clean a dirty tank? i dont know any!!

As people have said, drinking water needs to be dechlorinated. You shouldn't use bottled water, only tap water.

ADD: The water should also always be at room temperature

Tap water needs to be dechlorinated, either by leaving it out for 24 hours or putting a dechlorinating agent into the water.  These can be purchased from pet stores or even Wal-Mart in the pet section.

Do not put your fish into bottled water.

NO!!Do not put in drinking water,it is bad and can kill the fish.Just get some tap water  from a bath tube and add conditioner.If you put in drinking water it will shock the fish.

I buy bottle water to do my betta bowls and don't treat it. They're going on a year old and they're fine =]

conditioning tap water is better then bottled water. Some fish cannot put up with bottled water because of its ingredients
