depends on which way you turn.  If you turn to the right you would be facing the port side - turn left - facing starboad side.

That depends on if you're in the boat or outside the boat.  If you're in the boat, and facing the stern, and you turn 90° to your left, you'll be facing the starboard side of the boat.  If you're outside the boat, facing the stern, and you turn 90° either way, you'll not be facing the starboard nor the port side of the boat in question.  However, you might be facing the starboard or port side of someone else's boat.

turn left or right  left starboard right port  lets say you were standing on the stern facing forward then port would be on your left ie: port and left have the same number of letters where as starbord and right do not     Starboard is actually Star Board referring to navagation  as on olden ships when navagation was by the stars there was a board on the starboard sid of the ship that the navigator would line up with a particular star to guid him    port however was the side of the ship that they would always pull into port on
