  1. In most cases, it won't hurt for more than a minute.  The surprise is worse than the actual pain from impact.

If the person who gets hit is under 10 or over 70, the pain could be worse.

  2. It depends on what you classify as hard. If you think maybe 60-70 mph hard, then they should be fine after a minute or so. But if you have a 110-130 mph serve, then they'll be having some headaches.

  3. you get the point

  4. Well obviously it would be by accident lol so i dont think there would be any warnings or anything haha! If it was a really hard serve then assuming it was someone like little Olvier Rochus or Davydenko (he looks weakish) lol that got hit theyd probably go flying hahahahaha the likes of Rafa Baby and the Fed Man well they are strong sooo maybe a little bruise could feel dizzy need time out ! Who knows...it could happen next time. Did u see that video on you tube the one where the tennis ball kills the pigeon? its doubles that are being played in that vid!

  5. he would get laughed at.  Ive been hit by an overhead in the face from 5 feet away (dont ask) by a kid who serves 120 ish...im quite fine.  I fell pretty hard.  But it didnt hurt for more then a minute.  So a serve has to hurt less.  So it's not that bad.

  6. Then you will win the point if he's your opponent lolz.

  7. He would probably get laughed at.

  8. If that person is your doubles partner, he might be tossed to the other side of the net. If he's your opponent, he will probably think that he has the slowest serve dodging reflex. If he's the chair umpire, the match will be suspended. If you try to hit a hard serve to the bleachers, its very unlikely that you hit someone that hard.

  9. he could get a big bump in his head or worse you get knocked out!

  10. Your opponent is in all aspect a part of the tennis court. As long as your shots are within the baselines & your serve is not a fault, you're at will to do so. Your opponent also have the same respect, to return the ball at his will too, he must block or return an incoming ball so he may not get hit by the incoming ball.

In one of a match between Federer & Roddick, Roddick hit a very fast ball to Roger, Fed miscalculated his return shot & the ball hit his forehead so hard, it immediately produced a big hump on it. The ball is still considered a ball on play. Thus a point was counted for Andy. Andy apologized in a sportsman like behavior. They still continues the match & Fed finally won that match.

  11. I've been hit in the back of the neck by a guy who can serve about 115.  So, it was probably around the 100 mark.  Yeah, it hurt, but like somebody else said, the surprise was worse than the actual pain.  And of course, everybody laughed, including me.  I don't think that anything serious could come of getting hit by a serve.  Even Roddick's best serve.  Sure, you might have to sit for a minute after that, and it might sting for a while, but I don't think it would injure you.

  12. Well, it depends.  How do they get hit in the head?  Do they suck that much?  It would hurt for about 5mins.

  13. If the ball didn't bounce yet, he'd lose the point.

  14. Don't worry about what could happen. If it was really that bad, nobody would play tennis (or at least doubles). I've hit my twin brother on the head many times when we play doubles. He might get a little mad, but in the end we just laugh it out and I get some of my anger out when I remember I hit him. People get hit all over with powerful shots, but as many have said: the pain is temporary. And I don't remember anyone dying from a ball hitting them on the head. =)
