The NYC antipodes is in the Indian Ocean, about 1000 miles southwest to Perth Aus.

It would be better to ask about the opposite side of the Earth, or antipodes. Drilling through the core is impossible!

You won't emerge on the other side because you will be burned up before you ever reach the core.  It looks like the diametrically opposite point on the globe is in the southern Indian Ocean,  a pretty good distance west southwest of Australia.
