The normal trains seem to take 2 hours and cost €6.50 or so one way.

salou to Barcelona is about 1 hour 30 min drive you can go by bus or coach for about 4-5 euro return

travel companies in salou do do day trips to nou camp in Barcelona would be a good day out what a stadium to see

i don't know about the train though.
