Your totally under the influence of alcohol and you ask your friend to drive in order to avoid any accidents. She doesn't have a license but you do. If she happen to get pulled over, will you get your car taken away? Will your friend get a ticket? Is it punished when your intentions were good?

  1. Sorry: Truth is, your intentions were not good.

You got drunk knowing you would be expecting to drive, then passed the responsibility off on the other person.

You allowed an unlicensed, uninsured driver to operate your car, knowing full well that in the event of an accident, your car, nor any other in the accident, would not be covered.

If your friend is caught without a license, she will most likely go to jail and have to post bond. If it is a repeat offense, it could be serious.

If you really had good intentions, you'd have called a cab or a friend to come get you. Instead, you decided to let your friend take the risk, so that you do not have to face the consequences for your immaturity.

Look at your main question: You don't even ask about what would happen to your friend... you're worried about losing your car.

You don't sound like much of a friend to me.

  2. It will be impounded and the driver will be fined for no license.

  3. She will get a ticket for no license.

You will get a ticket because you let an unlicence person drive your car.

You may get your car towed if you can not find a sober licensed driver to come and get it.

  4. It depends on your state laws.

Your car may be taken away for a while, I'd expect they would at least tow it after pulling you over and you'd have to pay to get it back since neither of you would be fit to drive.

Driving without a license is usually a criminal offense (like drunk driving, etc) not a traffic ticket offense like speeding. I'm not sure if they take you to jail for it when you're pulled over but they make you go to court, pay fines, etc.

In most places you can also be charged for letting someone without a license drive your car. In California I think they take your car to impound for a month.

I recommend taking a taxi, its way cheaper:)
