Fruits have seeds or pits like peaches, plums or cherries. These can be planted and regrown. But veggies that don't contain a seed, like carrots or corn, for instance, don't contain a seed. Therefore, how do we get more?

    PS

the edible part of the corn is the seed.

  3. If you leave a carrot in the ground for some time the plant on top starts to flower and then has seeds. Same with other root vegetables.

Corn kernels are seeds!! If you leave corn on the plant the kernels dry out and can be planted the following year.

Some vegetables like potatoes reproduce vegetatively, You take a potato and plant it and you get a plant with lots of potatoes.

  4. Some plants produce seeds outside of the veggie or herb , hence the phrase (Come to Seed)  then they blow around  or are carried away by us.  Just like dandelions - their seeds blow all over the place which is why you see them pop up all over your grass in some states. its the little white puff that blows thru thw wind. hope I helped
