    this is the main reason y acquatic animals can live in a place whose temp is below freezing pt

    due to anomalous behavior of water below 4 degree celcius instead of becomin heavy

    due to increasin density it becomes lighter so even though the top is 0 degree bottom part is 4 degree.

    The reason all of the other things happens is because water is the most dense at 4 degrees C not at 0. This is because water wants to make a crystalline structure when it freezes giving it greater volume.
