If we're in 2008 (two thousand eight) now...?

Question

What will it be by 2050? Two thousand fifty or "Twenty" fifty??

Remember back in 1999, when it was called "Nineteen ninety nine", and not "One thousand, nine hundred ninety nine"?

In 2000, this changed, for good reason, because "two thousand" not only sounds better but has less syllables than "twenty hundred".

But in 2010 or so, the general preference should change back to "twenty" as opposed to "two thousand". Agreed? Opinions?

Okay so maybe this isn't to do with religion but....well....hey the calendar is based on Jesus so there.

Just like 1990 was nineteen-ninety, 2050 will be twenty-fifty.  I'm not sure what they do in other languages, but 20-50 is so much shorter.

After 200-9, people will start calling it 20-10.

Year of twenty hundred centuries and a ten. This will make a lot of "sense". Plus now it is 21st century. One century will be still uncounted for.  But to say it simply, twenty ten. Happy now?
