If we're supposed to be all about gender equality?

Question

Why is that man can't hit a woman but a woman can hit a man all she wants and even considered a hero for it? Where are all the men's shelters for all the battered husbands?

That's what people think is appropriate. I'm the kind of guy who would rather avoid hitting anybody. I once asked my mom at a young age why boys can't hit girls but girls can hit boys? I was in grade school were everyone was immature. My mom just told me that nobody should hit anybody. That sticks with my today. I have actually had to hit a girl. When I was 14 and on the bus, this girl kept pulling my hair from behind. I tried telling the bus driver and all she did was smile. She kept doing it and doing it until finally I just punched her in the face. She cried and she learned that she can't hurt others. I wish I didn't have to, but if nobody else is going to help you, what can you do?

Because, we have passed from an age of outright inequality to an age of delusion. The average person actually believes that men enjoy s*x more than women, for example. Hence the delusion is that men are too full of testosterone to act or think rationally and that they are just too aggressive, whereas women are always rational and collected and that if they choose to act aggressively, then it must have been the right decision. Obviously this isn't true, but this way of thinking will pass eventually, into an age of enlightenment, don't you worry about it.

We do have a battered men's place in our town.  Also, women can be arrested for physical violence the same as a man.  However, the woman will say he started it and the guy usually gets hauled away.  Ever seen Cops?

It's wrong, I would never hit my husband. When my parents got married my Dad made a deal with my Mom... You never hit me, and I'll never hit you. It's that simple. Women who hit men are just as wrong.

Last time I checked, it wasn't okay for a woman to hit a man. I've never met any one who considered women who use unreasonable amounts of violence anything other than terrible shrews. Growing up, I was always told that violence is not acceptable for any one...I don't know where it is that you live.

Because we live in an age of double standards, as approximately as many favor women as men.
