  1. Yes.  I will make an extra effort this week.  I hope YA! responds by removing them and maybe consider changing the  section name to be more clear and specific.

  2. I would too. I feel this is 'spam' and it does violate Yahoo!'s own use guidelines.

People and/or families gennuinely seeking answers have to wade through junk completely unrelated to educating students with disabilities.

I believe that Special Education (to help with cultural differences) should be moved to 'people with disabilities'.

Because only people with disabilities are elgible to enroll in special education services, the proposed category restructuring would then instantly clear up any confusion or misperception people had about 'special education'.

  3. Yes, that is how Yahoo answers works. I try to report such questions.

  4. Yes, count me in.  I'll report some this week especially.

  5. You, I and the other members of Yahoo Answers who are related to the field of Special Education would definitely get annoyed to see wierd questions under this category.

But, actually the problem is not of Yahoo Answers. Infact, it is of the general mindset and conceptions of the people, they feel that any special kind of education or style of learning- like distance education mode comes under the umbrella of Special Education.

Infact, if you search a few popular job websites, they aslo have wierd categories under the section of Special Education- like the BPO/KPO Jobs.

Basically, it reflects the IGNORANCE of general public towards the field of Rehabilitation.

  6. I would report them. Lots of these questions are totally irrelevant to SPED.

  7. I've noticed the same thing, I'm not sure that people understand what Special Education means.  I've stopped going to that section and that's what I do I advocate for children with learning disabilites and other special ed needs  so that they get the services that they need.  But having to wade through all of the other mess is  a problem.

  8. not necessarily-

if one person does it repeatedly-maybe-

but Yahoo sees it as an honest mistake and as long it doesn't otherwise violate the community guidelines-they leave it alone......

besides-it is Yahoo suggesting the category-and the people being to lazy to manually reassign it to teh correct category

  9. Agreed.

  10. Sounds good to me & yes, I would report.  There seems to be an influx of incorrect section posting's here these past two months.
