  1. The Elizabethan Era is the period associated with the reign of Queen Elizabeth I (1558–1603) and is often considered to be a golden age in English history. It was the height of the English Renaissance, and saw the flowering of English literature and poetry. This was also the time during which Elizabethan theatre flourished and William Shakespeare.

As for now, there are no specific era name for Queen Elizabeth II. The current royal house is "House of Windsor" and it will be changed to "House of Mountbatten-Windsor" (the official surname used by the current monarch and its royal descendants)

  2. Not necessarily.  People have, over the centuries, sort of collectively chosen these names for eras, and they need not be named after the monarch.  Right now, we are in the New Elizabethan era.  But we could be in a totally differently named era after Elizabeth.

King Charles III (as he is likely to be called, though he could choose another name) will be a great King in my opinion.

  3. If Charles becomes King Charles, then we shall be Carolingians and if he becomes King George, then we shall be Georgians.  Should he amaze us by taking on one of his other names, then we might even be Arthurians or Philippians.

We have only had two Kings William in recent history and one shared his throne with the his wife, the rightful heir, so that they reigned as William and Mary, and the other reigned only for a few years.  Perhaps this is why no epithet was applied to their people, but Guilielmans might be a name that could take on. Or perhaps not. It is rather a mouthful.

  4. Chuckabethans.
