If we are heading for an economic depression, what will happen?

If the U.S. is indeed heading toward another economic depression as some experts seem to think, what will happen to jobs? 401k plans? retirement savings (such as IRA's, savings bonds, etc)? Is there anything that can be done to prepare/safeguard ourselves in the event a depression becomes a reality?

  1. Well, it truly is everyone's concern but predicting what will happen in the event of a depression is only speculation now. I'm sure articles can be found about that... But in my opinion, the only thing that will be really left to do is accept it. :-/

  2. There's no "if" about it, we are heading down the tubes.  The primary cause at present is accelerating inflation, which is caused by US debt beyond control.

So get rid of anything payable in fiat money, which will become as worthless as the dollar itself.  Read up on survival, then do it.
