...and we have tailbones, does that mean that at some point God may have had a tail? What do you think he used it for?

  1. God is Spirit, we were made in the image of God to have a spirit. Has nothing to do with our physical nature.

  2. The image of God refers to the immaterial part of man. It sets man apart from the animal world.  It is a likeness mentally, morally, and socially.  If you have a Bible, make reference to:

    John 4:24

    Genesis 1:28, 1:31, 2:18

    Romans 5:12

    James 3:9

    Ephesians 4:24

    Colossians 3:10

  3. He used it to pick up beer bottles.

  4. IF God was talking about the way we look when he said we were made in his image then possibly...but I think you're wrong in thinking he was talking about our physical bodies...our spirit is what he created in his image.

I find the whole human vestigially argument somewhat amusing...at one time, the list was a lot longer than it is now...until we discovered that something we thought was useless actually played a vital role in some aspect of our bodily function. History doesn't support the conclusion that just because we don't know the purpose of something means it doesn't have a purpose!

  5. You got it backwards.  MAN created God in his image.

  6. Also, if we are all made in the image of God, why don't we all have flowing white beards?

Maybe we had tails...and wings.  We could have been dragons.

  7. Boy, if we were all made in the image of God, then God had better be scheduling regular dermatology appointments like I do, because God and I have an awful lot of dysplastic nevi.

  8. There you go taking things literally again.

Think about the word image and all that it means as the root of imagination. The part of us that is God like is our creative mind.

  9. God evolves.

  10. What an odd question.

  11. I think God used that tail to lasso all the hot babes that he wanted to get down with.

  12. Or more likely, the converse is true: God is made in the image of humans.

  13. great question
