If we are to learn from our past mistakes and history is all human societies past , then what have you learned most from all our past mistakes throughout history ?

Culture is what remains after we have forgotten all that we set out to learn.

History tells us mistaken world leaders have commited sucide or the uncertanity of the death cause, we should learn from history that we should not follow them, how ever great they were one should fear death.

That humans cultures tend to have certain repeating tendancies and if we are to improve ourselves as a species we need to study and understand those tendancies and exploit the good ones and remove the bad ones.  Those who don't learn from the past are condemned to repeat it.

That history most often repeats itself.

That - when history doesn't repeat itself, it sure rhymes wtih events of the past.

That learning from history is paramount, regardless of your career or station in life.

That the fact that many of the people of the world refuse to learn the above is the reason why many repeatedly fail, and the wise enough to learn repeatedly succeed, because they heed the counsel of the wise without having to bear the pain of repeating the same mistakes and losses.

Yeah there are many inspiring life, which we can adopt it gives you an idea of living we generally tend not realizing it.

History is the study of the past, particularly the written record[1] of the human race, but more generally including scientific and archaeological discoveries about the past.

History says that earlier we were Ape. Conversion from Ape to a Human being is a great mistake. We have lost the jumping quality. Now the Olympic is going on. Probably some Medals we could captured if the conversion was not happened.
