Minimum unaccompanied minor age is 21 or older; guests under the age of 21 years must be accompanied by a parent, grandparent, or guardian 25 years or older in either the same stateroom or in an adjoining stateroom with a connecting door. This age limit will be waived only for underage married couples (proof of marriage is required). *CCL requires that bookings for underage married couples be noted. Pregnancy restrictions: no more than 26 weeks at any time during the cruise. Infant age range is 4-23 months. Child age range is 2-12 years. Adult age range is 13-54 years. Senior age range is 55+ years.

I will be 15

My two sisters will be 22 and 18. Do you think if we get our parents to sign a waiver and we call carnival they might let us? Or not a chance. It's not like we're crazy spring-breakers?

  1. Carnival cruise line which DOES have a requirement of at least one person in each cabin age 25 or older.

However, ALL of the other cruise lines have a similar age requirement BUT the minimum age for at least one person per cabin is only age 21 or older, rather than 25. So if there is someone going who is at least age 21 on Royal Caribbean, Princess, Celebrity, Norwegian, Holland America or Disney then the requirement is met for that provision.

Then there is the second provision of you going with persons who are not your parents. That is solved by your parents signing a written consent form. As I recall you can print a copy of the form that Royal Caribbean uses from their web site.

Here's what's on RC's web site about this:

" Adults who are not the parent or legal guardian of a minor traveling with them must present an original notarized letter signed by the child's parent(s), authorizing the adult to take the child on the specific cruise, supervise the child and allow emergency medical treatment to be administered.

Please note: An individual's age on the date of sailing determines his or her status for the entire cruise vacation. Royal Caribbean International does not accept reservations for student groups. Please consult a travel agent for Royal Caribbean group policies. "

I suggest that you just go on a different cruise line and go on a Royal Caribbean ship as they have more on board activities anyway.  You will have much more fun on Royal Caribbean.  Go to Royal Caribbeans web site and select one of the cruises by the RC on the Freedom of the Seas, the Liberty of the Seas or the Independence of the Seas.  All of these are brand new ships that are gorgeous and have things like the rock climbing wall, basketball court, ice skating, many pools and hot tubs, a huge gymnasium, an area for teens and kids only called Adventure Ocean and a teen disco for teens only.  Then the ships have the "Flowrider" where you can body surf right on ship.

  2. No, definitely not.  That's in their legal contract and part of how their insurance rates are determined.  They won't be flexible.

You can go on RCI with a 21 year old chaperone, though.

  3. Not a chance. Sorry. You're in a catch 22 situation. Your parents can't sign for you because you're both legally adults. And Carnival's rules have nothing to do with legalities. It's just their rule. I really empathize with you, but they have no way of knowing who are the crazy spring breakers. Do you have an older aunt or cousin perhaps.?
