Many of the "skeptics".

Al Gore could make more money sitting on corporate boards and giving speeches on anything else.  This is costing him money.

Jim Hansen is a Federal employee, who can't be fired except for misconduct.  If his bosses could have fired him, they would have.  But he was (and is) telling the truth, so they can't.

But for many of the skeptics, running around denying global warming is their best way to make money.

When the people above are talking about "left wing guys" and "liberal retards" do they mean these?

The research scientists employed by the government are neither "overpaid", nor are they "retards".  I'd gladly wager that they are significantly smarter than you and that they could make a lot more money if they worked in private industry.

They choose to work in government research facilities because they enjoy the fields they are able to study, not because it makes them rich.

These people should be GLOBAL WARMING Worshippers and welcomers...  

I mean, this planet can take a lot more heat than we can dish out.  The only problem is that we can't and if we are truly heating up the planet like they say we are, we are merely going to wipe ourselves out and the planet will be more hardy.

Anyway, ever been to Hawaii where Volcanos (I am sure much hotter than any global warming CO2) increased land mass and eventually results in a lot of unique, new and various plants and flowers.

Kind of funny how they look at things.

Sorry to say that when global warming blows over there will be something to replace it.  Environmental scares are really nothing new.  

There has been for some time a group of 'scientists' who are warning that we are destroying the Earth and another group who accept it as fact.  Scientists like David Suzuki and James Hansen will just move from one envirnomental scare campaign to another and they will never run out of devoted followers.

I'm not suggesting that the environment is not important, but there is very little science in environmentalism.  It's all about emotion that talking about "killing the Earth" generates in some people.

there are a lot of environmentalists and scientist how are making a good living off of global warming. while they drive their SUV's and live in modern houses in upscale neighborhoods they want you and I to turn off our lights for a hour to save the earth. they urge us to get rid of our SUV's and lessen our carbon foot print as they fly around the world to attend conferences, and seminars to promote their cause.  hopefully all of them will be out of jobs, but they won't they will just move on to the next made up scare.

in 20 years or so, several million farmers in south america, south u.s.a, sub saharan africa and india.

in 50 to 100 years, several billion people displaced by a metre sea level rise.
