  2. Unless you have no experience whatsoever, there is no reason why you shouldn't have a reference. This can be anyone from a former employer or supervisor to your personal clergyman or former instructor. Basically anyone who can speak as to your work ethic/job performance or personal integrity.

    Many companies use Internal Job Postings as a means to hire from within. These are often a good place to look for other positions within an organization. If you decide to look for another job within your present company, however, you should not broadcast it to everyone. Keep it just between you and the hiring manager. If other people start talking about you looking for work elsewhere, it may be misinterpreted as you being unsatisfied or unchallenged in your current position.
