If we reduce the size and scope of government, would we be better off than now, or worse? I would like to hear your opinions. Thanks.

  1. I think it would be still the same. Despite the size of our government, both parties will still remain competitive as usual. However, it would probably better off, since we wouldn't have many people grabbing each others necks from both parties.

So yes, reducing the government would make things a lot cleaner.

  2. I think it would make it a lot easier for corruption to happen, as far as buying off congress members or things like that. Instead of buying off ten for majority now could only have to pay one or two... Also it would put more power into fewer peoples hands, when what we need is less power in more hands. It's a tough call really and it has pros and cons, but I'm personally against it.

  3. I don't know if this is a trick question cuz that's a no brainer. Of course we would be better off. There are endless offices and black holes where money goes into without accountability and getting anything back out. Time for someone to go in and cut alll the fat out, including welfare that goes to able bodied young people who use the money to buy clothes and get their hair done on my hard earned taxes I pay. All you have to be is either black or mexican to qualify. They don't even look at income or need. As a white person I got turned down just because I wasn't a minority at a time I was in between jobs a few years ago, so I know big government is nothing but BAD and doesn't function the way they pretend it is supposed to. It just helps scammers and lazy democrats who abuse the system and get fat off of food stamps instead of going out and getting a job. I could name 4 people who get welfare and foodstamps yet have a good job and drive a luxury car, just because they're a minority and that's got to stop. It won't happen with Obama. At the least if the government loves to pass out money like that, I'd rather they take it from able bodied minorities abusing the system, and give it to poor old people whose companies stripped them of their retirement money and who can't even afford to buy medication and are dying.

  4. If we reduce the size of government and cut the fat out of it we have what? Lower taxes and if we have lower taxes we all each and every American have more money to spend as we choose which is good for the economy and good for chairitable organizations too ! Its a win win situation. This 50000 ton Gorilla we call the federal government has got to be cut down to size before it eats us all.

  5. Much better!!! That's what Libertarians are all about.

  6. We would be better off if the government was reduced to where it was before Bush took office.

The military should also be reduced.

  7. It grows anyway

  8. better  =  less spending

  9. My opinion is that things will be better. I believe that many people think we are all helpless. We are helpless in that we can't make our own decisions regarding our finances (i.e. trash service, health care, welfare, ect). I believe people will be happier when they can spend more money on what they want for themselves than what "big brother" wants to spend his money on.

  10. Government is like a tool.

You can use it like a hammer, using it to raise up or using it to tear down.  Big government, small government--it doesn't matter.

Only that it is being used to build up when it is used, and avoided when it would tear down.

  11. We would definitely be better off!

The Federal Budget is now projected to be over $9.5Trillion...how does that not mortgage our children's or country's future?

Foreign Countries such as China and Saudi Arabia are covering this and exerting more influence over our country at it's detriment.

See the URL below and be astonished at the biggest cost to the taxpayer...Social Programs such as Medicare / Medicaid and Social Security.

The three branches of government are almost nothing in comparison.  The Department of the Interior which includes Parks and Recreation are almost nothing as well!  NASA, Homeland Security, DOE?

The National Debt continues to grow primarily because of these Entitlements and is further enhanced by Trade Imbalances to China due to the poorly negotiated Free Trade Agreement and NAFTA.

We are selling the US to foreign countries, not just by buying foreign oil!

  12. if we got rid of government all together then we would be fine. government has show time and time again, the leaders will only steal from and brainwash their societies into a war that in the end means nothing but more land or resources for said government.
