Question:

If we travel from Japan to America and japan is ahead in time of America,then are we travelling back in time??

    Theory of relativity.... the hours that we assign our time zones are just numbers we assign, and regardless of whether it's daytime here and night time there, time is still progressing as it does.  If you call a relative in New York from your hotel room in Tokyo, you're talking to them in the present.

  5. if you travel from japan to america ( lets say to hawaii>) you will in the process cross the international date line though its still daylight nad present on both sides of the line but we cross the dateline and according to the GMT time convention your date goes back to the same time the previous day the moment you cross the dateline

    you are still in the present but according to convention to clearout the hotchpotch  in global time and synchronicity you just "gain a day" <datewise>

    similarly people who cross the dateline from west to east (say from hawaii to japan ) "lose a day"
