  1. Health costs would be a lot less for everyone.

  2. Everyone would DIE.

  3. i dont know about the global econony but life would be very boring lol

    Tracey x*x

  4. the economy would be more prosperous because billions of dollars would remain in the pockets of the former consumers, that money could be used for higher education, buying a house,  ...etc, if you add it all up tobacco, drinking drugs fast food...etc, it takes a big portion out of your wallet, the gov would say it would s***w the economy, but it would only hurt their pockets not yours, besides theres already enough taxes to fund the gov, but its their greed that that says otherwise, ooh yea a big help for the economy would be birth control, food would be cheaper because of supply and demand...this is what i think....ooh yea i dont know how it would affect the global economy but i think this would help out the U.S.

  5. People would just spend their money on replacements for those things.

  6. that'd help

    big time.

  7. The thing about the "global economy" it doesn't really benefit anyone except big corporations. As Chomsky has suggested, there are many different ways of global integration but globalisation is just the model that suits those in power. What I think will happen is big corporations will lose out. Living a healthy lifestyle can be either cheap of expensive and doesn't have to become an issue of the pocket. For example, if we were all to become vegitarians that would be the most globally sustainable diet imaginable and would also benefit the environment. One of the largest contributors to global warming is the meat industry.

  8. healthy pipl living long , having too many children , overpopulation.. u know the consequences of overpopulation..

high crime rate, reduced jobs, inflation....bla bla bla

  9. We'd live longer but it would be much less fun.

  10. We would be a healthier country who cut out healthcare in half by more than 60%

  11. not got a clue sorry

  12. We'd all die from boredom!

  13. We would all be robots, and the government would still find another way to scare everyone with something.I do not feel you should participate in any activity that harms your mind or body, but even more dangerous than that is someone controlling someones free will.Live and let live.If you want to help the economy get rid of the federal reserve and the insurance companies and everyone quit trying to sue everyone.Want the best for your fellow man. Most of all try to never hurt anyone, never attack only defend.

  14. there would be less co2 in the air

  15. Drastic increase of average IQ would be most noticable.

As a former smoker/drinker/druggy, I know it takes a certain amount of realizations and personal growth to achieve such a thing for EACH person. So in order for it to happen EACH person would have to come to each realization and grow for themselves resulting in a more intelligent and spiritual culture.

    Good Question.

oops I didnt read it arefully. I just saw it was an economics question and I don't know what would happen then.

I CAN tell you that I PERSONALLY have a LOT more money now than when I used to spend it all on drugs, drink, and cigs. I think that a LOT of people would be out of jobs though, those industries are huge.

Its been over 4 years of me being sober now. :)

  16. we would stil be the same..nt so healthy...and as far as the golbal economy is concerned they wd just adapt

  17. I guess this is a socio-economic question which requires a great bit of conjecture to answer.

If we (all humans) were to be mandated into your proposed change tomorrow, one can imagine some, short-term shock to the economic system as there would be supplies of the "bad-stuff" hanging around and I think it could be expected that there would be shortages of the "good-stuff".

But it's a bit difficult to imagine that this change happens all at once, but easier over time.  In fact, there is some sort of global economic change happening all the time as new products are introduced and other retired from the market, with very little overall effect; the market adapts.

So, if it happens suddenly; short-term chaos followed by a new stability.  Over time; no real net effect, just shift.

  18. For one we would be eliminating a lot of jobs, eliminating the revenue these products bring in,  and eliminating the medical costs associated with these activities.  That would be disatrous to the global economy unless you could find a host of popular products that would replace these activities.  And life in general would be pretty boring.
